Helping people make one of the biggest decisions of their lives is something I take seriously. Every client’s story and goals matter—that belief is what has guided my career from the very beginning.

I was working for a Telecommunications company on a small project (lol) called XM Satellite Radio (now called SiriusXM), helping acquire sites, so they could broadcast their signal in the Southeast Region.  When 9/11 happened, everything changed overnight. The company fell prey to the economy. I suddenly needed to find a new path.

As fate would have it, I came across a free seminar about becoming a REALTOR®. I remember thinking, "This career sounds perfect for me. Making homeownership dreams come true, one home at a time."

I grew up in a modest 2Br / 1 Ba home with 6 of us in Ohio. My humble upbringing has blessed me with being thankful for everything I earn.  Growing up was not easy as my brother was often a bitter bully, and dealing with the physical & emotional abuse was an incredible gift, how 'not' to treat others.

I knew hard work early in life at 14, when my father passed away.  My mom had to work to ensure we had a roof over our heads & food on the table. She would also sell homemade candy and baked goods on our front porch. Still can not find a Lemon Bar as great as hers (my favorite).  As for my part, I would help by shoveling snow, raking leaves, or cutting grass until I was 16. Then worked at a restaurant, doing whatever I could to contribute financially.

For a while, I considered staying in the hospitality industry, but I was drawn to a better-paying opportunity and joined Pepsi-Cola, starting as a Driver, delivering beverages. Fun Fact: To this day, water bottles or cans have all labels facing out, like a grocery store.

After school, life was moving quickly. By the time I was 22, I was married, had already purchased a home (over 18% Interest rate) & had my first child, Andrea. 4 yrs later, Lindsay was born. I was high on life (never taken drugs, for clarity on the word high).  Moved to Georgia in 1996. Yrs later had Andrew & Jacob.

Fast forward to late 2002.

My mom came to town and helped me study for the licensing exam.  Using flashcards, she would quiz me again & again until I knew the material by heart. I passed with a 96, only needing a 75.  With tearful eyes, music cranked, driving home, my index finger pointed to the sky & I thanked God for that day.  When I walked in, I informed my mom of my score & she screamed with excitement. Making your mom proud is a priceless feeling. Although she’s no longer with us, those study sessions and her support remain one of the sweetest memories of my life.

After you pass your exam, you must park your license with a Broker. So the search began and after careful consideration, I decided to join Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers, where I’ve now  been for 24 years. The mentorship and support they offered were exactly what I was looking for, and all these years later, it still feels like home.

Today, life looks very different. My kids are grown—ranging from 25-36, 4 Grandchildren (Riley, Frankie, Freddie, and Eleanor). Life with my family is beyond anything I can write here. I'm honored, blessed & thankful as their Dad / Grandpa.

My girlfriend Kat and I have been together for years, and we love traveling the world together, exploring places like Iceland, Australia, Scotland, Holland, the Netherlands (Amsterdam & Giethoorn), Aruba (eating dinner under a hut at sunset, on Eagle Beach is worthy of the trip alone), West Indies (Nevis & Saint Kitts), Montreal, Canada (Parc Omega is great, stay in a tiny cabin or teepee) and soon to be South Africa. Life is so fun, so meaningful with her and my family.  I’m grateful for the journey that led me to real estate.

I still feel the genuine love and passion for helping others. I have always been attuned to people’s emotions, and that has become a natural strength in how I guide clients. I approach every transaction as a hands-on agent who stays present through the entire process. I attend inspections, study each property carefully, and help my clients understand both the good and the potential challenges.

My mindset is simple: my clients’ needs come first. I educate them so they can make confident decisions, and I often help them envision how a home could be improved through remodeling or thoughtful design. Because I understand renovation costs, I can help them plan realistically.

I also believe the experience should feel positive and even fun. I stay optimistic and remind clients to trust the process. As a strong negotiator, I work to secure the best possible deal, protecting their budget and interests. On selling, I strive to yield the highest net number.  My focus is always on understanding the market and the needs of everyone involved, while ensuring my client remains the priority in every decision.
